Hello Cedic,

Welcome to the row. Glad to have you here and hope to hear of your progress with the course. We are here to help so don't be shy with questions. Roy and the rest of us should be able to get you an answer.

Looks like you have quite a bit of audio equipment in the picture. Have you done some recording prior to starting the bass?

Noticed your bass is an Ibanez. Which model is it? I play an SR-500 and really love it.

Welcome to the Row Cedric,

And do I notice a fellow Lefty Ibanez player ?
That must be a GSR200L then ?

Hi John, I've been doing audio recording and musical compositions since 2000 but certainly not a musician by a long shot. I am totally new to the bass, and I must say that I am struggling with finger position. It is very uncomfortable, but I hope that it will get better I'm time.

My bass is GSR-100.

Cedric,

Yes, it will get better the longer you practice. One finger per fret and press right at the fret as Roy suggests. After time, it will become natural. Just make sure to correct any errors or bad habits you might develop as soon as possible. If you don't have an instructor to catch these things, try filming yourself then compare with video of the pros (Roy). I've caught some bad habits this way.

Best of luck in your playing. Would like to hear some of your compositions if you don't mind sharing. No pressure. :)

John
