Welcome Jazzfusion!

TMBG is a great learning tool, and Roy is a great instructor. It will take you from the very elementary stuff to some pretty high level material later on.

Take your time and make sure you have each lesson well under your belt before you move on, as the program builds on what you have already learned in previous lessons. Start slow and build up to playing speeds slowly.

Don't over do the practice at any one time. Your fingers will get stronger as you practice but if they start to hurt, reduce the length of your practice times and increase the frequency of practices each day.

Good stuff here. Even those of us who've been playing a long time are constantly learning the "right" way to do things and picking up tips that make an amazing difference.

Tell us a bit about the music you like, the gear you've got, and be sure to ask any questions on the forum. Someone here may have the answer, and if we don't, Roy drops in frequently and provides the "right" answer. ;)

Jazzinfusion:

Congratulations on becoming a serious student of bass. Roy, et al, will have you thumping bass lines to Ramsey Lewis and Oscar Peterson in no time. Welcome to the mix...
