Oooh, I like metal. One caveat - I have to be able to hear the words. I can't get into the stuff where you can't even hear the words because the singer's just barking like an alley dog. To me, that's just an instrumental piece with static in front of it. Why bother with writing words if you're deliberately going to make them impossible to deciper?

If I can hear the words, I'm happy. :o

I play in a metal band.

OH, no, wait, sorry. Sunday morning praise and worship band. Sometimes I forget.

I do like Dream Theater, but they're more prog than metal.

And these guys (sorry Elmeaux, can't understand them at all!):

Are you really a lefty or is the video inverted? The writing on your shirt is backward.

Great link and I love the bass, is it custom?

I am going to challenge you all...what about the rest of you. I am just learning to play and I will be posting some of my learning videos once I get going but until then lets see the rest of you.

I'm thinking of filming something the next time I play with my posse. I have a great idea for an unusual arrangement of a song we all know and like. Ssshhh....if I upload it, you'll see what it is. And I'll try to play loudly...the drummer is a horse for control of the room.

If I don't want to wait for the posse, (such a bunch of hothouse orchids, I should say) I also have an idea for something by myself. Kinda creepy...from the vaults. One of my own compositions. Just me and a couple of candles, and of course...the distant thunder of my whispering ax.

Maybe...

:p

PS...speaking of creepy from the vaults, Elmeaux recommends Alan Parsons Project "Tales of Mystery and Imagination". It's Edgar Allan Poe to music. GOOD music. Featuring a song (with a seriously heavy bass line) called The Tell-Tale Heart," sung by the outrageous Arthur Brown. (Remember his song that goes, "I AM THE GOD OF HELLFIRE! And I bring you...FIRE!!)

It was their very first album back in 1976. Orson Welles does the narrative. And a nice verse at the end is read by Leonard Whiting. Make sure you get the remastered version...more stuff that was left off the original.

Eric Woolfson RIP :(

Great clip. I prefer the Lego band and some good old school Metalica.
