After a lifetime of admiring and fantasizing about playing the Bass, I have finally taken the plunge at 59yo. It's been 2 weeks since starting and going OK so far, This is a great program and I am enjoying it so far. I am using a Peavey Grind 4 string to start and plan on moving on to a 5 string sometime in the future. more to come...

It seems that the first thing I have always heard (or listened for) when listening to any music is the Bassline, probably because I grew up hearing Reggae music as it was evolving.

Yep. That's what does it. Those basslines when we were kids. Though I had many ear-catchers, the one I remember best was Larry Graham - Dance to the Music!!!

Hi, Riddim -

There's great advice buried in Donnie's welcome - take your time. There are many TMBGers to whom you're a young whippersnapper, and they know that learning is best done at a steady, regular pace. Welcome to TMBG and the Row!
