(from far below in Sydney Australia ... 63 yo is still seeking a new challenge )

Excited to have received TMBG ... have always loved harmonies and singing impro' bass riffs/arpeggios to any song. So thinking of learning to play them on a bass was the dream ... if only I could simply do on the fretboard as I can with my voice .... mmm not so ! Hence my excitement to DO something about that.

I guess with such a comprehensive, fun looking learning program it is up to me to put in the practise.

Thanks Roy and team ... better get doing it .... Duck

Welcome, Duck. You have a username that pays homage to a great bass player!

Enjoy the lessons and the forum!

Welcome Duck,
Stick with TMBG and you will be able to replicate what you can sing on your bass. It may take a while (most of us find TMBG to be at least a 2 year program, what with life and so on going on ;) ) but you can proceed at your own pace and Roy is always there to patiently go over what you didn't get the first time.

Get the basics down solidly from each lesson before you move on, things build on the previous lessons and moving before you've got stuff solidly under your belt will be frustrating.

Enjoy!!!!!

BTW, my son is heading to Auckland NZ in a month or so for a few years while his fiance finishes her PhD there - a lonnnnng trip from here!!!

welcome Duck. I'm a recent joiner upper too, also enjoying the challenge. I found the hints tips and tricks section helpful, so I would recommend browsing.

Hello, Duck - Welcome to Thunder Row! I'll be in Sydney next month, scoping out possible locations for Roy Vogt's Fantasy Bass Boot Camp, 2014. I'm about 6'3", bald, and will be wearing blue shirt, so keep an eye out...
