We've been playing around a lot at music stores, as my husband is looking to get a new acoustic guitar...and of course I have to play with all of the basses. One thing that quickly became apparent to me once I started playing was that I hated the little Crate practice amp my hubby had. I'd made up my mind that I'd like to get something better, but wasn't in any special hurry.

We stopped into a little Mom & Pop music store this weekend and lo and behold...they had Ibanez Promethean amps! I'd been wanting to give one a try, but no one seems to carry them. The folks there were so incredibly nice and helpful, setting up a huge ring of amps for me to try. It was a close call between the Promethean and a nice Ampeg. In the end, the Promethean P3115 won out due to it's very compact size and light weight.

I'm SUPER happy with my purchase. The amp sounds amazing now that I've got it home and it has loads of power to spare. Very punchy and yet very clean. Here are the specs:

300w Combo
15" Sub HF dome tweeter with passive crossover
3 band EQ
Phat control
High Quality peak limiting circuit
Mute switch
Auxiliary Input(1/8")
Balanced Line Out(XLR)
Phones Out(1/8")
17.7W x 14.4H x 21.7D
37.4 Lbs

Thanks guys! I'm still really loving this amp! It's a big difference going from a 25W practice amp to this 300W little beastie. :)
