Hey guys...I had a general question about my amp. I have an SWR500 and it sounds great. However after the unit gets warm the fan kicks on...and man...it is loud. Is this normal? Or should I be looking to change the fan out with a new one or one that is a bit quieter?

No help from me. I use a combo amp with no fan.

Anybody else?

I replaced a noisy fan in one of my amps with a much quieter one from Black Ice (a computer fan company). Just make sure it matches the voltage provided and the CFM specs. Usually a fairly simple swap. I also made sure that my fan was sucking air out of the amp, not blowing it in - much more efficient when pulling the air out.

Great thanks...I didn't figure it would be a hard swap...but was thinking along the lines of a computer type cooling set up. Thanks D.

This is the fan that I used to replace the one in my Eden WTX1000N amp.

Noiseblocker Multiframe S1 (http://www.frozencpu.com/products/8400/fan-516/Noiseblocker_NB-Multiframe_M12-S1_120mmx25mm_Ultra_Silent_Fan_-_750_RPM_-_below_6_dBA.html?id=5KfaXaRS&mv_pc=10733&gclid=CLaZl67wiLQCFYN_Qgod8wQAQQ) that I purchased from Frozen CPU, a computer parts company. As I said, it is a computer fan.

Thanks I will have to look at my manual and check necessary specs for my amp.
