Since we have been talking about Recording Software here's another one, that won't break the bank.
And since it's Line6 bassT (sound out the T) I LIKE!!!!!!! Be sure to check out the sound bits that were done
with this software!! Man!! Who needs to go into a recording studio any more for the most part? Well yes the
studios do help a lot with acoustic issues.

What is Reason Essentials?

Reason Essentials packs in all the recording, editing, effects, instruments, and mixing tools you need to sound great.

Reason Essentials, just like its bigger brother Reason, puts making music in focus. From concept to completion, it comes with all the essential tools for turning good ideas into great songs.

Reason Essentials comes with a great selection of instruments and effects in a virtual rack that builds itself, or can be tweaked to your heart’s content—drum machine, loop player, sampler, synths, reverb, delay, distortion and more.

For guitar players, the built-in virtual guitar and bass POD® from Line 6 brings a wide range of top quality guitar amps, cabinets and effects. The intuitive audio and MIDI sequencer makes recording and arranging your music a breeze.

With its generous sound bank and familiar creative flow, Reason Essentials is the software that lets you focus on the music and finish that song.

Is this a discounted (Line 6 branded) version ?

I remember in the past they had a special version of RiffWorks (http://www.sonomawireworks.com/riffworks/) (by Sonoma Wire Works) the Riffworks Line 6 Edition (http://line6.com/legacy/riffworks) which is now discontinued. They offered a discounted "upgrade" to the full Riffworks for Line 6 users. (note that I'm talking about the commercial version of Riffworks not the free Riffworks T4 edition).

I have a License for it and they claim it's great for guitar recording, but I never found it intuitive to use.

As for Reason, to the best of my knowledge this is owned by PropellerHead not Line 6 (hence the question if it's a Line 6 branded version, that maybe only works with a Line 6 Interface and Riffworks once did).

The full version of Reason is : 405 Euro (still a but cheaper than Cubase 7) but their "Essential" version is only 120 Euro (I'm not talking upgrade/crossgrade prices).
