This has nothing to do with bass? But lets see how old you are and if you can remember this?
This is a FAMOUS ONE HIT WONDER SONG. My first cousin is (or was) the guitar player in this song. (Really). They are from here in New Orleans La. They went to LA and thought they were going somewhere?? FLIP FLOP!! But the song is kinda cool!!
So lets see who remembers this. Do you know?? Well the bass is kinda loud in the song!

I believe this is "Pass The Hatchet" by Roger & The Gypsies. Not sure of the year but should be the late 60's.

Nope, never heard it before this. But I used WinAmp to play it and it gave the title as "Pass The Hatchet" by Roger & The Gypsies" just as SilverFlame46 said.

JUST A LITTLE ADDED NOTE ABOUT THE SONG.
The soundtrack to the film “Desperado” (with Antonio Banderas and
Salma Hayek) earnestly endeavored to capture the style of “Pulp
Fiction”, and Quentin Tarantino appeared in the movie. Upon
Tarantino’s entrance into the bar, “Pass the Hatchet” was playing in
the background. “Aww, pass off the hatchet, baby!”

I don't know how I missed that one...
How could they possibly have gone wrong with a song like that, and a name like Roger and the Pirates?!
There's no justice...

Funny, now that I remember sitting in my aunts house looking at my cousin as a boy and all I remember of him JR. we called him, the guitar player, was that 50's greaser type hairdu, right after the song Pass the Hatchet hit the chart, boy, I'm feeling old.

This did not play on CKLW (Windsor Ontario...AKA the Motown Sound), or WKMH in the Detroit area...we missed it.
