If you're a new member of Thunder Row, don't forget to get your five posts in. Once you can see the forum pix, you'll want to play our weekly game, called Skin DEEP.
A new round of Skin DEEP is typically posted every Monday, and here's how it works:
Two basses are put up against each other in a contest to see which is the better looking. Skin DEEP is not about sound, electronics, performance, or brand loyalty. It's all about OUTER BEAUTY. It's the game where we pay homage to the designers of the bass guitar.
Sometimes we have odd or unique looking basses, and sometimes just some familiar faces and classic styles.
Your job is to decide which one is more beautiful and then cast your vote. The following Monday, the winner goes on to face a new challenger and the loser is sent packing with nothing more than a boot to the rear end.
After about 25 or 30 basses have been featured, we tabulate the scores and divide the basses into three categories...Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medal contenders. The basses in each category vie for the medal, and we present the winners.
After the medal rounds, we shake things up a bit by putting winners from the different medal categories up against each other; Bronze contenders up against Silver, Silver against Gold...you get the idea.
So check out the OFF TOPIC section of the forum every Monday to see who's on the slab. In the current edition, the Fernandes ain't doing so well against the Schecter, but then again...the business of beauty is a dog-eat-dog world.
