Our friend, Bryan Beller, has a new instructional DVD out. It's called "Bryan Beller: Mastering Tone and Versatility" released through Alfred Music.
I had a chance to ask him a few questions about it.
TR: What motivated you to put this DVD together?
BB: I did it because, while there are plenty of instructional DVDs out there about scales, licks and riffs, there aren't as many (or any?) about building a great bass tone.
TR: So it's more than instruction on how to play the notes physically. It's about creating better music with what you're playing.
BB: I mixed those theories in along with the playing, and included some mental approach aspects as well.
TR: Is it for all bass players...beginners to advanced?
BB: Hopefully I have put together a well-rounded product for players of all skill levels, though I'd say the music is intermediate to advanced.
