  • INPUT PLEASE: Teach Me Music Theory

Okay folks, so now that TMBG is a worldwide hit, we're sitting around The Learning Dock Interdimensional HQ wondering: "What next?" Well, we were knocking around ideas; Teach Me Dishwashing, Teach Me Gnome Building, Teach Me Fiberglas Polishing, when Ashley said: "What about Teach Me Music Theory?"

Not a bad idea. The question is, are there enough people out there interested in learning music theory including how to read and write fluently - taught in our own inimitable style? We need to ask some intelligent people whose opinion we respect.

Which is where you come in.

We'd love to hear what you think about Music as our next subject. Let us know. Also, if you have any other suggestions for topics you think there's a market for - and one that's not being addressed well by a currently available program - tell us!

    Thanks so much!

I'm interested big time. I think this would be a great supplemental course to TMBG. It adds a deeper dimension to the whole learning process.

It would also be a great stand alone course for all instruments.

Is your intention to do this for bass clef only or for everything?

A theory course sounds like a great idea! I've learned a lot about theory from TMBG, but I have also ventured to other source to beef up my knowledge. I have found a lot of good info, but most of it is bits and pieces. I think comprehensive theory course would be a great addition to your line up.

I am in absolute agreement that a stand alone course would be a wonderful addition to the Learning Dock library. Of course it would become the benchmark for all music theory courses available as TMBG is for the best instrument out there. So start working and if you need a beta tester I am all in.

Yes, it will be stand-alone and apply to all instruments, composition, and performance.

Sounds like a fantastic idea. I'd be keen to do it. But, I think you shouldn't completely abandon the Teach Me Gnome Building concept. That could also be very cool...

I would support this project "Teach Me Music Theory" by being one of the first to purchase the course. No doubt the TMMT Course would appeal to a wide variety of people interested in music, not just bassists. I think you have a winner if you decide to go forward with this project!!!
