Paul's voice isn't what it once was, but I really like the "sitting 'round the piano" feel of these tracks. Very intimate and sing-alongish. GREAT songs, inventive melodies and clever lyrics. Thanks, Paul!

To me, he's sort of taking the same tack as did Rod Stewart and Cyndi Lauper. They both got into recording a bunch of the old standards. It's a nice way for semi-retiring musicians to give us a "show" while enjoying some calmer, more relaxing music at the same time. Neither Rod, Cyndi, nor Paul need to make money - they make these albums for the sake of the song...and for us.

I've pre-ordered this new one because (as TLDTR said) they're nice moments of intimate music. "Round the piano" so to speak.

I really don't know that I'd want to hear an entire album of new McCartney material. I don't know what he'd write. He's not an idol anymore. He's more like an old friend inviting us to enjoy listening to what he enjoys playing and singing.

I love the old standards. This stuff is fine by me.

It's not exactly what you would normally hear from Paul, but I can appreciate his nostalgia and the urge to do those covers. The album is very relaxing, a laid-back, and retrospective look at his youth. I can relate to that. It's something I could listen to every now and then.

Paul does not need to make money?

I guess you did not hear the terms of his divorce to the one lagged super model? She took the kids and the house and half of the money. Also got a huge monthly child support check.
