OvationB778TX Acoustic/Electric Bass
Ovation basses are noted for their clarity and focused pitch. The roundback Lyrachord body provides projection and detail—even in the lowest registers—and avoids the muddy tones that plague competitor’s acoustic basses made with wood bodies and flat backs. Ovation’s bass guitars feature Mid-Depth composite bodies.

Low End Magic
Ovation’s 4-string bass guitar features a solid-spruce top with scalloped X-bracing for superior note definition, and its classic Mid-Depth cutaway composite body delivers balanced acoustic tone and is comfortable to hold and play.
Soundports on the bass-string side of the instrument enhance lower-frequency projection. The bass also features a satin-finished maple neck and a black-stained rosewood fretboard. Assuring correct string tension and intonation, a full 34” scale delivers harmonically rich timbres across the instrument’s entire range. With its onboard compressor, the OP-Pro Studio preamp provides control over the attack and sustain of every note.
Mid-Depth Bowl
The Mid-Depth bowl blends elements of Ovation’s Super-Shallow and Deep Bowl designs. Acoustically, the Mid-Depth bowl delivers impressive projection and rich tone, yet even smaller guitarists find it comfortable to hold and play. It’s no surprise Ovation’s LX, AX, and TX models all feature a Mid-Depth body: Its proprietary Lyrachord construction and roundback design let it outperform typical “box” guitars. For decades, hardworking musicians have relied on Mid-Depth Ovation guitars to cut through the mix, whether played acoustically in a living room or run through a concert hall sound system.
OP Pro
Designed in collaboration with jazz guitarist Al Di Meola and acoustic rocker Melissa Etheridge, the OP-Pro combines state-of-the-art audio quality with exclusive features designed to meet the needs of professional guitarists. The easy-to-operate unit offers 3-band EQ, a preset tone enhancement circuit, a battery status light, and a chromatic tuner. The OP-Pro will please even the most discriminating player.

Ovation basses are made in New Hartford, Connecticut.
Most online stores are selling this one between about $600.00 - $700.00. Not too bad. I've never heard the sound of a round-back bass before.
Anybody?
