      Tis an economical way to get into fretless bass. Hopefully they are set up properly from the factory. Be careful with the rosewood neck. If roundwound strings are used, they tend to eat a fretboard that is not very hard, very quickly.

      In the pix, the strings look like flats or half-rounds. How do they look to you?

      They look round to me. When I got my SR4XXV it had Elixir Nanoweb .45-.105's on it and a hang tag that stated all their basses were equipped with these.
