Sixteen year old Caleb Beaver, from Saucier, Mississippi, died in Memphis, Tennessee, on Christmas Day in 2011, following two strokes from a problem with his circulatory system - something that had likely been with him since birth. His dream of becoming a doctor was never to be.
In addition to his love for sports, Caleb was also a budding bass player in his church's P&W band, "Nothing Short of Everything."
Organ donation allowed Dr. Chuck Shelton, from Lexington, Kentucky, to received Caleb's heart. Like Caleb, Shelton had always dreamed of becoming a doctor, but more than this, he also played bass when he was a teenager.
Watch this video of Dr. Shelton as he meets the Beaver family and lets Mrs Beaver hear her son's heartbeat one more time.
From bass player to bass player. From son back to mother.
