This morning several of us at TLD HQ were reviewing photos of the devastation that Sandy has left in its wake. Having lived through the flood of 2010 here in Nashville, our hearts go out to those who have lost so much. Together with so many others, we stand in awe of the people of New Jersey, New York, and other affected areas - and particularly the firemen, policemen, and other emergency personnel who - yet again - prove the resilience and power of those determined to overcome. To those who say recovery is going to take years, we'd say months, because these people aren't going to lay down and wait for government to come to their aid. These people step up and do what needs to be done. Our estimate? A couple of months. And these people will prove us right. There is no amount of destruction that cannot be overcome by the spirit that says to the world, as it rises, dirty-faced, from tragedy: "Now, watch this!"
Hat's off to you all.
God bless.
