  • Zymol Your Bass Into Shape

Zymol.com is a site that offers products for the care and feeding of cars. But it was very interesting to learn they also have an entire line of products for musical instruments.

Visit their ZYMOLMUSIC site and check out the tab for Guitars and Basses.

      Cleaning products? Polishes?

Watched through all the "Not this, Certainly not this" video stuff to get to the product images, then realized there is a drop down menu under Guitars and Basses.

The Bridge Fretboard treatment looks interesting, as does their GBCb wax.

Interesting. I'd definitely be interested in something that would help keep my basses with non-varnished necks from getting yucky.

Elmeaux, you should see if you can get us a coupon code? Who knows, maybe they'll bite? I know I'm interested!

I just use very fine steel wool to polish the non-varnished necks on my basses. Just a wipe or two takes the accumlated crud off and leaves it feeling soooo smoooooth!

I might be able to do better. We can sometimes get companies to donate swag for our giveaways. Never hurts to ask!

Should I be polishing the neck of my basses?

I have 3, 2 with a satin finish on the body and the neck and one with a high gloss. To date, I have periodically cleaned and hydrated the rosewood fingerboards, and every 6 months or so have polished the body. The last ime I used the Zymol polishes and they worked very well.

I have not done anything with the necks, however, except wipe them after each use and clean them with a clean flannel and a bit of naptha about every 3 months.
I was worried that the polish would build up and be sticky. Is this reasonable, or should I go ahead and polish the necks as well??

      Thanks for the help.
