If you keep up with Facebook bassists, you might have heard that a gorgeous twelve-string bass was stolen from bassist Scott Fernandez.

Read some of the posts there about how his beautiful bass was pilfered.
Well, I borrowed the UPDATE to this sad situation. Scott, please forgive the text grab, but this is what friendship is all about!
"I received a call from Roy Vogt this morning. He said "Your bass is at Paragon Mills Loans". Before I even had time to put on pants I was out the door and driving.
I called the police. I called the store.
I got there and I walked up to the counter where the three men were and politely said "That is my bass. Here's my ID. I've already called the cops. I will be sitting right here."
The guy who stole it attempted to talk to me ONCE and I told him "Please don't talk to me for the remainder of our time here. I'm about three seconds from beating you to death..."
Cops arrived and in short order took the young man to jail. He apparently had warrants and prior charges of theft on his record.
I did not press charges as it is not my place to do harm to other people or their lives.
Strangest part about it, after getting there the guy took my GRUV GEAR XL Fret Wrap off of the bass... the cop found it in his pocket. What a strange thing to do AFTER you've already stolen a priceless bass.
NONE THE LESS, I will be thanking every single one of you that I can personally in a moment but until I can I just want to say...... The show of support from the world has been INCREDIBLE. If you've lost faith in the World PLEASE do not lose faith in yourself. You are all incredibly kind and considerate people that can truly change the world around you with your compassion. Thank you."
Friends looking out for friends! Good job, Roy!
Scott, congrats on getting your baby back!!
