One piece bass - body and neck together?! I wonder if it has a truss rod? Tuners, and the instrument cord plug are on the back of the body. Not quite clear how you access the electronics (says access is on the back of the bass, but other than the tuners, I'm not seeing other controls on the back - could be a tad inconvenient.

Amazing finish! Purple strings are . . . interesting

Ritter basses generally have that signature "hook" on the upper horn that to me, just seems a bit over the top

I agree, TM. I may just be age related conservatism, but fo me this base falls into the "just because you can does not mean you should" catagory. So Elmeaux, what flavour is it?

Ahem...I said if it wasn't one of the most beautiful basses I've ever seen, I'd eat my hat. And it just so happens, it IS one of the most beautiful basses I've ever seen. So no hats will be eaten today.

It's a beautiful bass, and I'm sticking to my story.

      Harumph.

I've never heard one of their basses, but they are stunning. This one is really really cool.

Search YouTube for videos of Phil Lesh playing his Ritter Jupiter Eye Of Horus bass. It's Jens Ritter's finest creation and is now in the Smithsonian.

And read our article on it.

You can actually BUY one of these!

When I said that I'd never heard one, I meant "in person". I've heard them on youtube and have seen the Lesh video. According to the Ritter site, there are still 3 of the 10 Hori available. So many basses, so little time.
