| Victor Wooten CampThe latest installment of Victor Wooten's Camp for Music and Nature begins this Saturday, 22 March 2014 at the Victor Wooten's Center For Music and Nature. From the VixCamps.com website: Jam Weekend 1 Think about how you learned to talk as a child. A key element to your rapid development was having people to talk to. To use a musical term: you “jammed” with people all the time. That same element was key to Victor Wooten’s rapid musical development as a youngster. He always had numerous people to jam with. And in most cases (like learning to talk) the people Victor jammed with were better than him. On many occasions, Victor would get off the school bus and walk directly into his garage where his brothers would be jamming with other local musicians. During the summer, these jams would last all day – literally. Recreating how Victor and his brothers spent many of their childhood weekends, this one-of-a-kind gathering will be two complete days of jamming; the goal being to have fun and learn from each other through the experience of jamming together. This will be a very relaxed and open setting with multiple jams happening in different locations on the property. Victor will be there the whole weekend and will supply extra musicians to fill in the blanks. But, the bulk of the jamming will come from all of you. This Jam weekend is open to instrumentalists and vocalists of all ages, all types, and all experience levels. Prepare to have FUN! For more info on sessions, fees, and enrollment, click HERE. See the Campsite being built!
