  • Member Bio - Meet Tracy Kuhn!

We've all known Trayster2 for some time now. She joined us in February of 2013, and we always enjoy her contributions to Thunder Row! Now, the Trayster would like to tell us all a bit about herself!

    Hi Thunder Rowers!

My name is Tracy Kuhn, and I’m a transplanted New Yorker living in Florida for nearly 20 years. My earliest musical recollection is being obsessed with fifties rock-and-roll, my mom’s favorite. I also learned a lot about classical music from my dad, in addition to many other genres. There was always music in my house. Some of my biggest musical influences past and present are Sha Na Na, Billy Joel, the Beatles, Santana, Rush, Frank Sinatra, The Who, Fleetwood Mac, and most recently, Yes.

I learned to play the French Horn at age 10 and played all through high school. I also learned to play a little drums and harmonica in between. I had always wanted to learn to play the bass guitar, so about a year and a half ago, I decided it was time to buy a bass and learn. My goal is to find other musicians to jam with, and eventually play some local beach-side bars/restaurants here in Florida.

I found Roy Vogt’s TMBG discs while reading an ad in Bass Player magazine that read: “No Bass, No Beatles!” After ordering the disc set, I was able to discontinue my lessons at a local shop. Attending Roy’s TMBG Boot Camp this summer will definitely be a dream come true, and I’ll look forward to meeting other Thunder Rowers.

Thanks for introducing yourself, Tracy! Glad you're enjoying the course. Good luck at Bass Camp this year.

Hi Tracy. Great bio. Thanks for sharing (I hope others follow your lead!) It's great to have the opportunity to get to know one another. I look forward to seeing you at bass camp, however, since I understand we're practically neighbors, I expect we'll be old friends by that time!
