  • Where's The Album Review?

Just to let y'all know, I'm not doing an album review this month. I'm starting the process of moving in a few weeks, and it's cutting into my Album Review time!

What I will do, though, is to recommend you sink your teeth into this old gem from 1968 (if you don't already have it in your collection).

The Moody Blues - In Search Of The Lost Chord. Filled with lotsa great bass, this incredible prog rock album will improve the relationship between your head and your ears.

There are a couple of different updated and remastered versions, but the original is always a good place to start!

Check out this nice feature on WIKIPEDIA, and click on the song name links to open the doors.

I can't remember exactly when I first delved into this album, but I've been re-enjoying it a lot lately, so it's fresh in my mind. It's a trip through the discovery of topics both inward and outward. Make a nice cup of tea and go travelling. And don't forget to check out the ever-so-sixties basslines!

Enjoy this video of House Of Four Doors, written by bassist, John Lodge, and sung by him as well!

When I was doing my thesis research in Algonquin Park in the early 70's, one of the guys who worked at the park had a couple of Moody Blues LPs there and played them day and night. Great, progressive stuff, but after I'd heard them 40 -50 times, it got tiring.

I'll have to go back and check it out - again.
