Got home from work and there was an envelope for me. Thanks Barbara!
I received my autographed copy of The View From Here, Lane Baldwin's CD that he was kind enough to share with his friends at TMBG. It was almost dinner time, but I had to pop in the disc real quick and skip thru the offerings. That was the plan.
I heard the first track, Lay Me Down. It summed up hopes and fears and pain. I urge you to give it a listen. I finished the whole Cd before dinner...it drove with me to work this morning.
I have never been hit in the head with a bat, but this was close. All the trials Lane has been going through suddenly appeared to me in person. I listened spellbound. A very simple song, but it spoke volumes to me. The whole album is solid and has a variety of styles. Check it out. As an aging guy, that first track had me looking in the mirror.
I don't know if I have the strength to go through what he is, and still keep going, teaching and giving. Exceptional man.
His talent and unselfish giving of free music lessons, life lessons and advice is priceless, but maybe we can begin to give a little back to Lane.
This man needs our help to keep a roof over his head and pay off medical debt. He's got to get well and then see what he can do to resume a quality, somewhat normal life. (He IS a musician, after all).
Please read that again.

Help out a brother. Don't hem and haw and tryyyyyyyy.
Do It. It feels good. Give it to a friend before the government takes it away from you anyway.
Do a good deed and learn a little something about yourself.
Thanks
