  • Vintage 1971 Gibson

    From the owner's Youtube site:

    Today, Lawman Guitars is presenting...

A really cool and beautiful 1971 Gibson SB300 Bass. It has been played a ton and just oozes vintage vibe.

Check out the wear on the back of the neck. Someone was laying it down low for a long time on this Road King!

    It plays and sounds fantastic.

The owner before me upgraded the tailpiece but fortunately, kept the original in the case. (See pic 10 on Reverb)

One string guide will have to be added to the original if you would want to take it back to original. One screw on the truss rod cover missing. I think the original broke off inside the hole. I could not get a screw to tap in. I’ll let the next owner deal with that.

Awesome wear and finish crazing on this beauty. Wear in all the right places. You won’t look like a Rookie showing up to the gig with this one!

Still has the most elusive Bridge cover which are always missing from these models.

My research tells me these were made in 1970 and 1971. I can’t find a pot to date it but the previous owner told me the original owner got it in 1971. I am going with that for a date. However, it could be either year.
