  • How Much Easier Can It Get?

Ok, this has got to be the easiest way to record your music I have ever seen! A company, named Apogee, has come out with a tiny, and relatively inexpensive, device that let's you record your bass guitar, or treble thingy if you insist, directly to your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or PC!!! They call it the "Jam" and it's available in assorted flavors to satisfy a range of palates. It is currently available from the usual on-line music vendors.

    Check it out:

Looks similar to the iRig devices made by IK Multimedia, their older devices were for iOS only, but it looks like their new devices also support Mac, PC and Android. But since It's not Linux compatible, I'll be using my Interface and Mixbus for a while longer.

I do wonder how the quality of the recording is with these devices and the difference between Active an Passive basses.
