  • Smoky Bass And Smoky Lady

Smoky bass and smoky lady. One of my faves, Julie London, sings CRY ME A RIVER.

Love the bass. May be just me but to my ear she phrases just luck a sax player! A good thing.

Julie London is one of my all time faves! I'll always love Patty Page, Doris Day, Dinah Shore, etc., but while they all SING, Julie smolders.

I remember the first time I saw Julie, probably on the Dean Martin Show or something like that. Suddenly cowboys and Indians lost their fascination. As for smoldering, Miss London did that before she opened her mouth...

"Some singers sing as though they are addressing a crowd; some sing as though they are in a bar with a lot of people - London sings as though she's in one room, with you - and that's the difference."
