  • TECH BASS: Let the Dogs Out, Bring the P'ups In!

While perusing the web - as always, on the lookout for items of interest to pilfer for the benefit of our readers - I came upon this jewel by Seymour Duncan that might embolden some of the more technologically adept among you to change out those dusty old pickups for some bright, shiny new ones.

    Good luck!

P.S. If you catch the house on fire, or ruin your '64 P Bass, it's not OUR fault!
    Ed.

      Thanks for posting.

I don't know that I'm quite ready for electronic repair.

Maybe one day...when I have more Whoops-a-Daisy cash on hand for when I damage something and have to pay some professional to make it go away.

Anybody here do their own electronics repair?

Only one way to get started. Go for it!

Done only a little bit of repair myself (reattaching a pickup wire to the winding that broke once, replacing pickups in a five string conversion, emergency battery connector replacement back stage, etc.). If you want to have a heart attack moment, take a drill to the headstock of a perfectly good (new) Ric in an effort to convert it to a five stringer.

I had my heart attack moments when I drilled into the body to install thumb rests.

Drills contacting pretty wood sure are a disconcerting thing.
