Slapped...

Rate this Entry
The one thing I really want to get my head around and it's proving to be very difficult.

Isolating the actual string I want, every time is the challenge. It's especially challenging on the A, D and G string. I think that I shall be spending a rather long period of time with this lesson. I'm in no rush, it's not like I've got a gig to play.

Making small progress and it seems to be coming with more effort than the earlier sessions. That's life I suppose, and it gives me an even deeper respect for the bass players I love.

Certainly running through the plasters though for my right thumb!

You've got the right attitude, Rev. With patience and consistent effort you'll get there.

    Thanks mate, I appreciate it.
I'm keen enough to want it now but mature enough to know it takes time.

Sorry for not commenting sooner, been crushed at work and barely getting time to play.
That said, I put some hours into Funk Patrol and can now play it with the band at fast tempo. I was in my own little world with it and hadn't even noticed Mrs Reverend and our eldest daughter listening intently.

Felt wonderful to play as this is the style I love more than any other.

One of those moments where one feels like progress is being made, and at the beginning I'd never had considered it possible.

Thanks Roy, just limbering up for Shuffle Funk now.

    Keep on keeping on.
