9 11 - My Memories

by Elmeaux on 09-09-2011 at 04:08 PM
I have a new post on my blog, but I thought I'd print it here as well.

As I got ready for work on Tuesday morning, September 11th, 2001, I sat to check my email and found something from a friend in Dallas. It was sent to a group of us. All it said was, "Guys, turn on your TVs. A plane just crashed into the World Trade Center."

I quickly turned on the TV and started my experience of the day's events. I don't remember the exact details

ElmoWorx Site - Update

by Elmeaux on 05-13-2011 at 04:01 PM
I was under the misapprehension that my new site was www dot

This is wrong. It's actually just WWW at the front.

Soooooo, I had two practice sessions today. I'm still working on speed, but I think I might need to slow it down a touch. Jimmy Eat World - The Middle? Machine gun fast plucking. Ow!!

Oh, well...two steps forward, one step back.

Rapid-fire plucking is a little too much like typing, and I have serious repetitive stress injury in my hands and sometimes can't even flex my fingers properly.

I wear these heavy duty braces while typing so computer work isn't

A Step Forward

by Elmeaux on 03-10-2011 at 07:51 PM
I practiced for about two hours today and have started to notice some changes (progress) in my playing.

I'm starting to get a real sense of connection with the music. I'm not just playing notes or repeating patterns. I'm actually feeling "in control" of the basslines.

I think this is the result of gaining confidence in my knowledge of the fretboard. For example: knowing where an E is anywhere on the board. (pick a letter)

It gives me the freedom
