After a few years flying under the radar, Jazz Bass Icon Jeff Andrews is back on the scene. Here is a link to his Facebook Band Page

Jeff is best known for his work with Mike Stern, Steps Ahead, Vital Information and as Jimmy Haslip's sub in the Yellowjackets from time to time. He is a disciple of Jaco who hung out with him and learned from him in NY in the early 80s. Here are some of my favorite Jeff moments.

I will be doing something new this coming Saturday-a Virtual House Concert with fellow TMBG Band Member Tim McDonald. This is not unlike a house concert, we perform a short set as a duo on piano and bass (very likely songs from my two CDs and the Tim McDonald II CD we recorded with Chester Thompson on drums). It will be a really interesting experience for me, and if some of my TMBG friends and fans would like to join me and Tim, we'd be honored! It's 6-6:30 pm CDT at this link:

Today is John Francis "Jaco" Pastorius' birthday. He would be 61 years old today. Hard to believe this much time has gone by. Here is one of my favorite Jaco performances-sublime, melodic and heartbreaking in it's emotion. Who loves you, Jaco?
