    as you can tell from my bass list, I'm quite a fan of Michael Tobias' basses. I have an early 90's Tobias Killer B 6 string and a 2008 MTD 535 fretless (both from Mike's hand). I find his basses to be very well made, the fit and finish to be outstanding and they are a joy to play. Fret fit and finish is amongst the best. I can't provide much through this comment space as it is very limited, so I'll see if I can send you a PM with more thoughts.

    HELLO TOBAISMAN. Hope you don;t mind me bending your ere for a few moments. i am . looking to move up the latter on the bass end of my gear. I have been reading and looking in the mags,and am leaning toward the kingston sartoga.is a nice looking bass ,. i have not heard any thing bad about them. and the price is not a real killer. i have also looked at the fender standard jazz. and the other one i was looking at real close at is the g&l tribute jb2. it is a real good sounding bass. same place as the fender any in put would be help ful i know i have to make the finale pick . just looking fo a little in put

33 years playing bass regularly, but started back in 1961 on a Hofner Beetle bass (just wasn't called that then!). Wandered through the Folk, Coffee House scene with my 4 string tenor guitar and my 6 string classical, playing with my cousin but kept coming back to the bass - that's been home for a long time now :)
