Back for more!!!

by Bassic Bill on 10-22-2014 at 05:14 PM
After an absence of something like 14 months, I aam returning to the fold and restarting the Program at Lesson 1 (if I can find it, that is). following a stroke lst May, I underwent brain surgery to clip an aneurism (in early September). That triggered a grand mal seizure and another stroke. I came out of that with "Left Neglect" and discovered that EVERYTHING I had learned with respect to playing bass, was (and is) gone. I am a little alarmed at the rattle and snap of my strings as I thump away. When I listen to most clips of other, more proficient players on YouTube, I hear nothing but clear, clean, pure notes while mine are pretty

Team Players

by Bassic Bill on 03-02-2011 at 01:25 AM
I have been spending a fair amount of time with 4 X 4's and have come to realize that my left pinkie finger is just not a team player. The 4X4's are turning out mor like 3 X 3's or 3 1/2 X 3 3/8's.

Recalcitrant is what it is. Moody, ungainly and irresponsible. Simply won't apply itself in concert with it's neighbours.

It may need counselling (or maybe it's me that needs the counselling). It may need medical attention if I switch to a wooden 4 X 4 as a training aid,
