I like the flaming in the headstock on the lighter one, and I like the body contours better, too. My vote's the Concord.

Orion for me!
Interesting question. My gateway drug for Spectors was a Czech-made 4-string Spector Rebop. Spectors have their own sound that's different from anything else and quite bright and aggressive. They...
I haven't ever run into that, actually. I will say that, for the most part, the basses I have Rotos on have dual truss rods, so I wonder if that makes a difference.
I'd recommend Rotos or if you're looking for flats, D'addario Chromes. Both are nice and stiff. I use 45-65-80-105-130 gauge on both of my 5-strings.
As a Rick fan, there's no way I can vote against Lemmy!
I've also moved to 5-ers as my main basses. My two mains are a are US Spectors, an NS-5H2 fretted and an NS-5H2 fretless. 45444545
I haven't tried cobalts, but I've really disliked every other EB string I've tried. I don't like how flexible they are. My favorite strings are Rotos, both flats and rounds. They're bright and...
It's awfully hard to beat an ebony top. The Vanquish doesn't do much for me in the looks dept. I'm sticking with the Monarch!
Monarch for sure! That ebony top is amazing.
I evened it up. :) Personally, the tele body style doesn't work well for me as a bass, although the crackercaster is a great example of that sort of thing done well.
Donnie, how about working on a song or two to change up just working on lessons?
Talman wins for me, once again! I'm not a big fan of nude Ash bodies with maple fretboards.
Very cool! Congrats! That wait is going to be a killer!
I've never played one of those, but it looks like a very, very nice P. Simple, which IMO, P's should be. :)
That's always been my philosophy, as well. You may find that with the Modulus, you play better because the bass fits you better or just in general sounds better.
BTW, Modulus did go out of...
I use a little 8-input mixing board (http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-802-Premium-8-Input-Preamps/dp/B000J5XS3C/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422538215&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=xeynyx+802). They're pretty...
Definitely the Talman! I find that particular green shade to be quite nice, and it goes well with a Tort pickguard. My one gripe about the Talman is the weird tuner configuration. I do applaud...
Absolutely they can! Are the Ernie Ball strings you're using new? My MM Sabre came with EB Slinkys, which I promptly removed because they were too noisy for my liking.
I hate string noise so...
I feel the same. At least the Benavente isn't all matchy-matchy. I really, really dislike the two deeply drilled holes in the back of the Benavente body. And I don't like single-cuts much. ...
Ewww. I think I got eye cooties looking at this thread!
The round pup covers on the Benjamin Miller are UGLY! And the horns on that bass look they'd break off if you looked at them funny!...
I love my 4003 too much to change out the PUPs, but those are cool! I love Motorhead.
It DOES look chunky. It's just a normal jazz type shape, though. I think it's the wood/fretboard combo that makes it look so eye-heavy.
Ha! I broke the tie...I forgot to vote yesterday. I'm out of practice.
Woohoo! Way to go Donnie!
