I have found this to be a fun way of helping with the daunting task of fretboard mapping......instead of just calling out notes then finding them on the fretboard i run the major scale pattern in the order of the cycle of 4ths on the top string...for instance take and find C on the top (E) string and run the major scale(no need to call the individual notes on this just find that 1st note quick as you can) then the F,Bb,Eb,Ab..ect. Then you can do the same thing only do it backwards by starting with the octave and running back down the scales which will force you to find all the notes on the 3rd string while also thinking of your scale fingerings, THEN you can do this with all the other scale patterns. I like to do this after I have ran my scales calling all my note names out, it is fun and really works your brain. Hope you approve Roy and this doesnt confuse anyone
