Happy Dominion Day! 26 years ago tonight I had the honor of playing a gig on the front lawn of the Parliament Building. A great place to be on July 1.

Oh thanks! There are fireworks later. I don't know how well the Flip will film in the dark, but if film can be taken, it will be!

A little more character, eh? This was the flag I knew as a kid.

Thanks. T'was a wonderful 144th Canada Day party.

300,000 people in Ottawa for the national festivities (and Kate and Wills ).

Ya, the ensign was the "unofficial" flag of Canada for quite a while, but I'm now attached to the good old maple leaf.

    Default Not Dominion day anymore

Thanks for all the well wishes. Certainly a happy birthday for Canada. Don't wish to offend anyone (we Canucks are like that) but it is actually known as Canada Day, the dominion day name was dropped 27 years ago (1982). Oh well, tough to keep up with these northern neighbors isn't it?

That should read 29 years ago. Math not my strong point, if I started playing bass back then I would be pretty good by now.
