    hey guys i just found a fretboard printer that you can print off to help with running scales it prints all the note on the fretboard that are associated with a certain cord ex. if you want to know all the notes in a (Bb major scale)notes being
    Bb,C,D,Eb,F,G,A and you can adjust them to 24 frets. i hope im not being sacreligious here but i found it at studybass.com
    hope this helps another newbie like myself.

    That website also has an online metronome, which is pretty cool!

    Looks good as a quick guide. Has some limitations though - I took a quick look at how it handles the melodic minor, and from what I could see, it only shows the ascending scale. (I suppose I could look at the natural minor for a print out of the descending scale.)
