SERIOUSLY!! So be looking for it in the middle of next week or the end of next week!! Maybe they will have us
some pictures, videos etc of this!! We'll see. But sssshhh!!! It's a secretttt OK? LOL!!!

We are actually quite a way from London in a small village. (Although, relative to US and Canada distances, we are just around the corner). So we are not directly impacted by the Games. Our village gala though, held in July, has the Olympics as a theme and there are scarecrows everywhere of equestrians jumping fences, sailors, swimmers, canoeists and so on. (It's an annual competition).

I'm glad you enjoyed the opening ceremony TobiasMan. It seemed to me suitably eccentric and affectionately irreverent. I'll be surprised if you got all of the references - I've lived here all my life and I didn't - but wasn't the music just fantastic!

Now let's hope the sport lives up to it! I'm sure it will.

PS We all knew about the Queen, Elmeaux. That (and the fact that Prince Philip is a fanatical ski jumper) are Official Secrets that all UK citizens are required to keep. Something about the dignity of the monarchy............

Yep, the music was great, but there were indeed a few spots where I felt like what was going on was a bit of an inside joke. Great anyway.

Canada has its first medal, Bronze in 3m synchro diving!
