Thread: Practice Practice Practice

  1. Default Practice Practice Practice

Just popping in to wish everyone a good practice day today.

I'm having a BLAST with The One Spot. On this very humid, grossly hot day I'm stuck inside so I'm working on that song and trying to nail In the Mood by Glenn Miller. One funny thing about learning to play, every time I have the radio on in the car I hear a song and thing "Wow, I want to learn that on bass!" My mental list is probably in the hundreds now. Thankfully, I have Sibelius on my computer so if I can find a midi of the song I can generate a bass tab and learn from that.

    Happy practicing!

Keep on keep-en on there bassischill!! Speaking of chill, bass, heat, in the mood etc. I hate this weather here in La. I thought I was going to DIE (from the heat) washing my truck and not only that but I cut one of my fingers on the mags of my tires not just once, but twice at the same exact spot and had too keep gluing it back with new skin (ouch). But thank goodness it's not one the fingers I pick with all the time, just once in awhile when I need that one. Now I have the AC so low the windows are dripping and I'm hoping icicles start to fall off my eyelids!!! And dreaming I could be in someplace
fishing in the ice like an Eskimo!! I hate heat any part of it. I guess with all this my head was just boiling.
But with the in the mood part it did make me fall in love with my Line6 5string bass some more because when I learn
songs like that I can turn a knob and play this bass 1949KayM-1.mp3 and also all of these Click image for larger version.

    Bassischill,

Whenever I'm in the car, I keep a note pad next to me. I am ALWAYS jotting down bass suggestions.

Here's a couple I picked up today - I'd like to learn these.

Hey leave my friend Alfalfa alone!!! That don't have anything to do with In the mood by Miller, it has something to do with me loving my bass as a kid does AND, he sings just like me!!
Now I'm going to send you a email that opens even if you don't want it too of me singing and it will scare you to death, HE!!HE! And I'm still in the mood for love of my bass!! Like I said, The older I get the younger I get, if I get any older I think I might get born again from my mother??? Just messing with you. But I still might send it to you, maybe, I think, not sure, probably, could be, we shall see...........

PS. I like that bass line better in the video, sounds more like my favorite style of bass playing, Jazz and walkin thing etc.
