Hello all:
I have a story similar to some others here. I played trumpet and baritone (TC) from 4th grade through college. I can read music, but feel like I'm learning a foreign language and have to translate treble cleff to bass cleff in my head as I go along. Hopefully soon I'll look at a note and not think "e"' no that's "g" while playing. I'm doing better at seeing a note and not worrying about what it is, just what to fret to play it.
Anyway...I bought my first bass guitar in 1982 and messed around with it but never learned how to play. It was always something that I wanted to do. Fast forward to today. My church needs a bass player and I decided I'm they guy for the job. I resurrected the old Harmony H-906 and started messing with it. I also picked up a Hal Leonard book and off I went. I realized that I was enjoying this and wanted to get serious about it. I picked up a used SR500 and a Roland Microcube Bass RX. I also discovered the TMBG program and decided to go for it. So here I am anxious and motivated to learn.
Tony P.
