What type are you looking for?
- low life -
Check out the classifieds at TalkBass.com. I have bought and sold 6 or 7 basses there, and have had great experiences. Be sure to check the feedback for the buyer or seller.
EBMM Dargie II Bongo, Carvin Brian Bromberg B24, Carvin LB76, Fender MIJ mid-80s P Bass, '75 Gibson Ripper Fretless
Genz Benz NEOX400, Genz Benz NEO-112T
I 2nd Talkbass. I also like to regularly peruse Olivia's Vintage Guitars. But, she carries a pretty small range of stuff (Fender, Gibson, Danelectro, Rickenbacker), so if you're looking for something really specific and maybe oddball, you may not find it.

Right now I'm looking for the Ibanez SR1205E or the 1405E.
Thanks....I'll check it out tonight!
How recently was the Ibanez SR1205 SE released? It appears to be a fairly high end Ibanez and there don't appear to be many on the used market.
Only one on eBay at the moment and it looks like a retail sale. http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_nkw=i...=&_osacat=4713
Many of the major retailers have used inventory, and some of them quite a lot. Here's some that do:

http://www.basscentral.com/2003/used.shtml Bass Central - mostly high end used

Sam Ash - a variety of ages and prices (can't get that URL to work properly)

Wow TobiasMan! Of your list, GuitarCenter is the only one I remember checking out. They have a 1205 (Mahogany bod, Ovangkol top) in only "good" condition but I'm kind of tending toward the 1405 (Mahogany bod, Flamed Maple top). This model of the SR1205 and SR1405 just came out last year so they are somewhat hard to find, but every review I've read has been exemplary! Plus, I've always been strongly attracted to the looks of my instruments and I love they way they both look!
Definitely keep an eye on the TalkBass classifieds. There was a 1205e just sold there this week.
Thanks Nicki...I registered on TalkBass and looked around but couldn't find the classifieds area. I'll look again tonight, however, I found a SR1405E at Guitar Center that I'm going to try for a while. I'll still keep an eye on the sites all of you have mentioned, because, actually I've discovered it is interesting to see all the different kinds of bass guitars companies and people are making!
By the way, are you playing your husband's 5-string, or do you mostly stick with the 4s?
