    Do you mean a Noise Gate pedal?

    Very sorry. Yes. I've never used one and the source I was reading from was calling it sound gate.

    Never used one before. At least not knowingly. My B3 does a lot of things. It may have this function. I haven't tried everything yet.

    I haven't used one, either, but it's something I think I COULD use. I get horrible hiss/buzz when I play out on Friday nights. It's either their lights or the power. The fact that my basses mostly have non-humbuckers really, really doesn't help.

    Ok, I don't have one on my pedal board right now but I used to have the MXR smartgate that worked very well. I think you can find one used for about 50 bucks. You might also want to take a look at the Boss NS-2

    Yeah I was looking at the Boss NS-2. It seems to have a good reputation.
