Thread: Skin DEEP 2014 - As Long As It's A Luthman...

Default Skin DEEP 2014 - As Long As It's A Luthman...

In last week's competition, the Luthman Lady M 5-String Bass retained the crown, defeating the Warwick Thumb 5-String Bass in a vote of 7-3! That makes Lady M the second bass to keep the title for more than one week! Woo Hoo!

Okay, I've done this kind of thing before, and now seemed like the perfect time to set up this kind of match again. This week is gonna be Luthman vs Luthman.

Say hello to the Luthman Jazzette 4. I picked her because she's got the wood grain I know our members love, and no matchy-matchy pickups!

She's a completely different design from her big sister, the Lady M, and doesn't feature the top-over-body, two wood design. The Jazzette's body is a single wood type, and I know there's a taste for each type out there.

I LOVE that aggressive headstock! Wow!

But does the Jazzette 4 have what it takes to unseat the champion, Lady M?

Like the 4 a lot more. Don't care for the knobs and the pickups on the lady.

Oh dang Elmeaux!! I'm caught between the beautiful wood of the Jazzette and the wonderful fact that the lady is a five string. If the Jazzette was a five string, it would have my vote, but I'm sticking with the lady.

i have to go with the jazzette. a very clean looking bass good wood but not over the top. just a nice clean working. simple but gets the job done.
