Thread: Skin DEEP 2014 - Here Comes Ristola

  1. #1

Default Skin DEEP 2014 - Here Comes Ristola

With a final score of 5-4, the Roscoe SKB-3005 Bass has kept her crown, sending the Mayones MR Patriot Fretless Bass a-packing!

This week's contender is a pretty young thang: the Ristola Redwood 5 Bass. Not as dark as some of the basses we've featured, the Redwood is a softer presence, yet still demands a second look! She's got a whole 'nother feel when compared to the dark, reddish look of the Champ, but that's what it's all about this week.

What do you think? Do you prefer the smooth, gentle look of the Ristola, or the bold face of the Roscoe?

Nicely proportioned bass, but I'm becoming more enamoured with dark fingerboards. They seem to add a "presence" that light ones don't have. That being said, I still like the maple fingerboard on my natural finish 72 P bass.

I don't like the light fingerboard. So, I'm staying with the Roscoe!!!

I like the overall shape of the Ristola a tiny bit better, but I'm not loving the fretboard, either. I love curly maple, but that one is a bit too busy with no fret markers to break it up a bit.

    Sticking with the Roscoe, too.

i like the over all look of the RISTOLA expect the light finger board .to me it makes it look like an after thought .but i like the rest of the bass very much. but i don,t think i could get used to that fret board . looks like it would get dirty very easy . so to the ROSCOE I GO
