Thread: Skin DEEP 2014 - No Ristola For The Weary

  1. #1

Default Skin DEEP 2014 - No Ristola For The Weary

Alas, the pretty Ristola Redwood 5 Bass did not have enough thunder to take over for the still-on-top Roscoe SKB-3005 Bass. The attempt to snatch the crown was met with a 6-3 defeat, and the Ristola being booted off the mountain.

    But, onward and downward.

    Are you ready for this?

    (drumroll)

Say hello to the Music Man Stingray Slo Special in Black Cherry Burst. Everybody knows the shape and distinctive look of the Rays, so in the end, it all really comes down to the trimmings.

    Woof! What a beauty!

I'm sticking with the Ristola, too. I've seen that MM color combo in person, and I thought it was ugly. It actually looks better in those photos.

Its mostly about the wood. Sticking with the Roscoe.

Never have been enamoured with the MM signature pickguard.

Easy one. MM hands down. Never cared for the pickguards too much. Would look way better with a clear pickguard or none at all.

I usually like MM overall, but oh my goodness that Roscoe!!! Beautiful bass! And it's a five string!
