Thread: Skin DEEP - Who Will Wyn This Week?

  1. #1

Default Skin DEEP - Who Will Wyn This Week?

And so, the Roscoe SKB 3005 Bass retains the crown for another week, sending the Music Man Stingray Slo Bass packing with a final vote of 7-3!

I scoured through the files to see if we've ever featured this next bass before, but I couldn't find anything, so let's do this and see how she fares.

This is the Wyn WSB-4 Bass - Carved Padauk and Wenge. (FYI: Padauk is the reddish wood. Wenge is the darker brown wood).

Does this beautiful carved bass have what it takes to unseat the Champion Roscoe SKB 3005 Bass? Only the voters can decide.

Well, the Wyn is a better opponent but I'm still staying with the Roscoe!!!

Recently, I have seen the smaller top wood piece featured by a couple of different manufactures. Stylistically, it leaves me cold.
    The Roscoe again for me.

That Wyn is very tempting. Has a lovely laminated neckthru bit, but the neck wood extension below the bridge is a little odd, and I also find the "add-on" wood slab on the top a bit much. Might have been somewhat better with a different colour of wood, but it would still seem "added on".

    Sticking with the Roscoe again.

I don't like either. Neither gets my vote.

No new round this week! We're due for a showdown round. Let me tally the points for this series and then we can begin! In the meantime, I'll leave this round open another day to see if the hapless Wyn can garner any more votes!

That Wyn is just...ick. It looks like it has a bad case of tumor growth. Roscoe for me!
