Thread: Who is the most UNDERRATED bass player

Default Who is the most UNDERRATED bass player

So who is the most underrated bass player out there. Everybody remember Duran Duran. The critique was "Pretty boys, MTV band, can't play their instruments". I beg to differ. Check out this bass line by John Taylor. This is from the song Rio. This is a absolutely killer bass line (hard to play)

Underrated?... Two of my favorite are underrated; Boz Burrell and Carl Radle.

It's hard for me to rate. Most of the bass players I admire are getting their fair share of appreciation. Based on my last album review, I think I might say that Canadian bassist, Jason Raso, could use a bit more limelight. He's really good and I like his style.

I agree with John Taylor. He's awesome..., my favorite is Simon Gallup from the cure.

Also Adam Clayton gets a bad wrap but New Years Day is pretty cool, and his lines are simple but they fit U2s songs really well.

Good call on Adam Clayton. How about Sting, he writes simple (but effective) lines that he can sing over.
