Thread: Skin DEEP 2015 - Japan Comes To The Big Apple

  1. #1

Default Skin DEEP 2015 - Japan Comes To The Big Apple

And so, in our first round of the new year, the Soobass KIN4 takes it from the Tune Bass WB4-QP with a final vote of 8-6.

Close, but no cigar for the South Korean made Tune! She made a pretty decent showing, but in the end, couldn't swing the popular vote in the beauty department. Me? I liked her for her knife-like body angles and pale, quilted Maple top! Mmm, mmm!!

:::lowers Tune Bass into wood chipper:::

Sorry there, old Gal. What a shame!

Okay, enough of that. On to the next round.

Stepping in to face the Soobass KIN4 this week is the tasty Benjamin Millar fretless known as The Big Apple Bass.

Will the Soobass be able to defend her crown? She's got that interesting finish, which I think is her strong point.

I voted for The Big Apple. The goose wood on the Soobass is very nice, but it needs some color/contrast variation. Maybe if the pickguard was a contrasting color or something along those lines.

Very interesting looking fretless, and the ebony fingerboard is so "right".

I made a boo boo and called this round South Korea Comes To The Big Apple. Actually, it was the Japanese Soobass that won. The South Korean bass was the Tune Bass, which did NOT advance. My bad. It's all fixed now. Please get on with the voting.

Ewww. I think I got eye cooties looking at this thread!

The round pup covers on the Benjamin Miller are UGLY! And the horns on that bass look they'd break off if you looked at them funny!

I guess I'm going with the Sooooouglybass.
