Thread: Skin DEEP 2015 - Benavente And The Forest

  1. #1

Default Skin DEEP 2015 - Benavente And The Forest

With a final vote of 6 - 3, the single cut Benavente SBC 5 Bass knocked the air right out of the Benjamin Millar Big Apple Bass, and sent 'er packing back home!

:::boots the Big Apple off the throne:::

Our new contender is hot off the presses at Ibanez. She's a P/Double J Bass (love that configuration) and she's called the Talman TMB300 Bass in Metallic Forest. Green basses are always interesting, because they tend to buck the trends in terms of colours. This Metallic Forest shade is classy and dignified. The retro design also gives the Talman a face that will turn heads. Y'all know I love the Ibanez bass face, and the way they aren't afraid to travel down that retro-road.

Does this retro Ibanez have the looks to take out the Benavente single cut, with her dark wooden shades? Only the voters can decide!

Definitely the Talman! I find that particular green shade to be quite nice, and it goes well with a Tort pickguard. My one gripe about the Talman is the weird tuner configuration. I do applaud Ibanez for using a headstock design that's different than their standard shape. It goes well with the vibe of the bass, but I don't like the tuners being all cattywumpus.

Ibanez hands down. Think it would look even better with a black pickguard.

I like green. Maybe a slightly darker shade would be better.
