With a final vote of 5 - 1, the Fodera Monarch 4 Deluxe Bass soars over the Fender Jaco Pastorius Fretless Bass, bringing yet a new champion to the throne!

I think the Fodera's Ebony top really set this beauty above the Jaco bass. Gorgeous.
Something simple this week, in contrast to the Fodera's multi-faceted appearance. This is the new 2015 Ibanez SRFF4505SOL Prestige Fanned Fret Bass. We have featured other models of the Prestige before, but there are many variations, and for this one, it's the look of those fanned frets on such a simple body that sets this one apart. No pick guard, no multi-coloured stringer strip up the middle, just a clean, solid body design, and a gorgeous oiled finish.
The Prestige is from the SoundGear design family
Mahogany body with stained oil finish
5-piece wenge/bubinga neck
Pearl inlays
Wenge fingerboard with 24 fanned medium frets
Two pups angled for fanned frets
Angled bridge, also for fanned frets.

What's your pleasure this week? The simple design of the Prestige, or the intricate face of the Fodera Monarch 4 Deluxe?
